WE FINALLY MADE IT! After over a month of attempts to snorkel ruined by weather, we finally had a clear Monday afternoon. I packed up the snorkel supplies, picked Aaron up from work, and we made our way to Maeda Point!
MAEDA POINT |April 8, 2019
It was breathtaking to see so many fish up close. We don’t have an underwater camera and we barely had an hour to snorkel before it got dark out, so we weren’t able to take any pictures other than the one below. The picture of Maeda above was from a trip I made to the cape on a choppy day.
When we got in the water, we were welcomed by a school of black and white striped fish that followed us around everywhere we went. There were so many different types of fish, it was just like what we saw at the Churaumi Aquarium, but so much more dense and we were surrounded by fish. It was absolutely surreal. I was so excited to see a baby puffer fish, Aaron loved seeing the colorful parrot fish, and we were ecstatic because Aaron felt like he got over his fear of the ocean!
Afterwards, we were so tired that we went out for ramen at Stripe Noodle and fell asleep.
